轴流式水轮机适用于3～60m的水头范围，按其转轮结构又分为定桨式和转桨式两种，定桨式转轮叶片固定在轮毂体上，叶片安放角度不能在运行中随工况变化而改变，适用于流量变化较小或可以用调整机组运行台数来适应负荷变化的多台机电站。转桨式水轮机的转轮叶片一般由装置在转轮体内的油压接力器操作，可根据水头和负荷变化作自适应转动，以保持活动导叶和叶片转角间的最优配合，从而提高平均效率。
Axial flow turbine is suitable for 3 ~ 60 m water heads, and it is classified into two kinds fixed paddle and rotary paddle according to its wheel structure;the fixed-paddle runner blades are fixed on the hub body,and the blade angle can not change in operation with change in conditions,so they are suitable for multi-unit power stations with small changes in which the number of operating units can beadjusted to adapt to changesin the loads.The rotary-paddle turbine's runner blades are generally operated by a hydraulic servomotor installed in the runner body,and they rotate in an adaptive manner according to the changes in water head and loads,inorder to maintain the optimal matching between the guide vanes and blade angle,thus to increase the average efficiency.
