混流式水轮机用于水头30～700m的大、中型水电站，而中，小型混流式水轮机则可用于水头为15～400m的水电站，驱动水轮发电机旋转而出发电能。混流式水轮机又称弗朗西斯式水轮机，水流由径向进入转轮，然后沿轴向流出。混流式水轮机应用水头范围较大，结构简单，运行可靠，效率高，是现代应用和发展最广泛的水轮机之一。我国著名的长江三峡水电站用的就是混流式水轮机。
Mixed-flow turbine is used in large and medium-sized hydrpower stations with 30~700m water head,and small and medinm-sized mixed-flow turbines can be used in the hydropower stations with 15~400m water head,to drive the hydraulic generators to rotate and thus to generatepower.Mixed-flow turbine is also known as Francis turbine,and its water radially flows into the runner and then flows out along the axial direction.The mixed-flow turbine has a large range of water head applications,with simple structure,reliable operation,and high efficiency;it is one of the most widely used turbines in the modern applications and development.
